Volga German Artifacts

These are genuine artifacts from the era of Catherine the Great, from the time of the first manifesto inviting immigration to the southern Volga in 1762 through the dissolution of the Volga German Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic on August 28, 1941.

The face of the 5 Kopek coin features Catherine the Great's monogram and the year. Mint marks are on the opposite side. Our selection focuses on the years of the manifesto which opened southern Russia to settlement of Germans and the years of settlement of the mother colonies, but other years are available as well.
