PRODUCT CARE
Each piece of jewelry in our collection is handcrafted with care using quality materials such as gold, sterling silver, copper, and natural & lab created gemstones. To preserve the beauty and longevity of your jewelry, we recommend the following guidelines:
General Handling
- Always handle your jewelry with clean, dry hands.
- Avoid wearing jewelry while bathing, swimming, exercising, or sleeping.
- Remove jewelry before applying lotions, perfumes, hairspray, or household cleaning products.
Tarnish & Oxidation
Silver and copper naturally oxidize over time. This is a normal process and not a defect. To slow this down:
- Store jewelry in a dry, airtight container with anti-tarnish pouches or bags
- Keep pieces separated to avoid scratches and tangling.
- Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently clean after each wear.
- Use a "Sunshine Polishing Cloth" and lightly rub surface. Available in our store HERE.
Gold is less prone to tarnish, but still benefits from regular gentle cleaning and safe storage.
Cleaning Guidelines
- Use only a soft, dry cloth or a mild jewelry-specific cleaner for metal components.
- Avoid ultra sonic cleaners or harsh chemicals, especially with gemstones or oxidized finishes.
Gemstone Care
Some gemstones used in our jewelry are particularly sensitive and require extra caution:
- Corundum (Sapphire & Ruby), Spinel, Garnet & Alexandrite
- Protect from sharp blows and extreme heat.
- Clean with lukewarm water, mild soap, and a soft cloth. Avoid harsh cleaners.
- Jade (Nephrite or Jadeite)
- Avoid heat, acids, and abrasives. Clean gently with a soft damp cloth without soaking.
- Malachite
- Very sensitive to acids, moisture and heat. Never use commercial cleaners. Wipe gently with a dry, soft cloth only.
Storage
- Store each piece separately to avoid scratches or tangling.
- Keep away from direct sunlight and humidity.
- When traveling, use a padded jewelry case or wrap each item in a soft cloth.
Following these guidelines will help maintain the beauty and integrity of your handmade jewelry for years to come. If you have questions about caring for a specific piece, feel free to contact us directly — we’re happy to help.
